Tiospaye Kin Iglukininpi (Reviving the Extended Family) is a parenting and family strengthening program rooted in traditional Lakota values and cultural teachings. Utilizing the Positive Indian Parenting Curriculum, and designed to support parents and caregivers raising children from birth to age 18, the program offers an 8-week series that blends cultural knowledge with modern parenting practices.
This parenting program is being supported by partner organizations and community members who have been trained in the Positive Indian Parenting curriculum developed by NICWA.

Benefit To Participate
The Tiospaye Kin Iglukininpi program qualifies for certification credit towards parental reunification with their children. Whether court ordered to participate or not, all participants will be guided in discussion to decide what traditional parenting aspects will benefit their household. This program is meant to empower the parents and guardians of Cheyenne River to strengthen their parenting skills by drawing on traditional Native parenting.
Tiospaye Kin Iglukininpi is about healing and reconnection. The program helps rebuild intergenerational bonds, strengthen parenting confidence, and promote a sense of cultural pride and belonging. By honoring Lakota values and supporting families where they are, this program contributes to stronger homes, healthier children, and a more connected community.
