Community Programs
We are deeply grateful to work with, and in, the communities of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) Reservation. Our community programs such as Tiospaye Kin Iglukininpi, the Summer Family Night Series, and our work with partner organizations are rooted in relationships, shared values, and a strong commitment to strengthening families and culture.
These efforts go beyond hosting events. They create welcoming spaces where community members can gather, build trust, and reconnect with traditional teachings. Whether it is sharing a meal at a family night, learning parenting skills grounded in Lakota values, or joining forces with local organizations, each activity is centered on unity, connection, and support for one another.
The impact of this work is visible in the strengthened bonds between families, the increased sense of belonging among participants, and the collective resilience that continues to grow in our communities. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. By working together, we uplift one another and help create a future where all families feel valued, empowered, and connected.

Tiospaye Kin Iglukininpi
(Reviving the Extended Family)
Tiospaye Kin Iglukininpi (Reviving the Extended Family) is a parenting and family strengthening program rooted in traditional Lakota values and cultural teachings. Utilizing the Positive Indian Parenting Curriculum, and designed to support parents and caregivers raising children from birth to age 18, the program offers an 8-week series that blends cultural knowledge with modern parenting practices.
This parenting program is being supported by partner organizations and community members who have been trained in the Positive Indian Parenting curriculum developed by NICWA. Participants explore topics such as traditional family roles, discipline with respect, storytelling, spirituality, and the importance of extended kinship networks. Through guided discussions, community meals, and hands-on activities, families are encouraged to reflect on their own strengths and to draw from the wisdom of their ancestors.
At its heart, Tiospaye Kin Iglukininpi is about healing and reconnection. The program helps rebuild intergenerational bonds, strengthen parenting confidence, and promote a sense of cultural pride and belonging. By honoring Lakota values and supporting families where they are, this program contributes to stronger homes, healthier children, and a more connected community.

Summer Family Night Series
The Summer Family Night Series, organized in partnership with local organizations, offers a free, family-friendly opportunity to strengthen community ties and create lasting memories. Designed for people of all ages, each event includes yard games, a shared meal, and plenty of fun in a safe, welcoming environment.
These events are more than just a night out, they are spaces where families connect, kids laugh and play, and neighbors come together. With a focus on positive engagement, cultural values, and community wellness, the series helps build stronger relationships and promote healthy living.
