Thípi Teachings is a Lakota story of the how to raise a thípi (lodge) told by Cheyenne River Sioux Lakota elder Matȟó Šaké (Leslie Ducheneaux). He talkes about important life lessons as well as the true meaning and significance behind each part of the thípi (lodge). The story was told as Pté Sáŋ Lúta Wiŋ (Red White Buffalo Woman) thípi (lodge) was raised, a thípi (lodge) named after Matȟó Šaké great-great grandmother in honor of her sacrifice. The book was illustrated by Cheyenne River Sioux Lakota youth.
